You are not weak
just because your heart feels so heavy.
I have never met a heavy heart that wasn’t a phone booth
with a red cape inside.
-Andrea Gibson, The Madness Vase, AKA The Nutritionist
Eve is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who has been providing therapy in the Charlotte area for almost a decade. She collaboratively creates a safe, compassionate, and curious therapeutic space with clients for them to explore challenging experiences and painful emotions, allowing opportunities for growth and healing to emerge. In sessions, clients are empowered to identify their needs, increase awareness of barriers and challenges, and create meaningful changes that lead to more resilience, ease, fulfilment, and joy. Eve believes that healing is not linear and happens through ongoing connection and community.
Eve Rogerson, LCMHC
She | Her | Hers
Trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern University in the psychodynamic tradition, with an emphasis on a biopsychosocial lens, Eve blends principles of modern psychodynamic therapy with feminist therapy techniques and a person-centered approach. She is experienced working with a wide range of issues, from emotional overwhelm, stress, and life transitions, to depression, anxiety, and trauma. As an intersectional, anti-racist, feminist provider, Eve focuses not just on what each person brings to sessions as an individual but also on how the interlocking systems of imperialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchy* contribute to mental health challenges, harm, and trauma.
Eve specializes in providing affirming care for LGBTGEQIAP2S+ folks and has continued her training through Yale University to be able to offer individual LGBTQ-affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as CBT groups through the AFFIRM Adult program. She is an active member of both Charlotte Trans Health and SAIGE, the American Counseling Association's Society of Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities. Eve is a queer, neurodiverse, immigrant provider who is deeply committed to creating a therapy space that is affirming, inclusive, and celebratory of all identities.
When not wearing her therapist hat, Eve can be found wandering local trails and greenways armed with binoculars and camera in search of her next bird sighting; reading queer fiction and poetry; sharing cozy meals with chosen family; and baking an inordinate number of sweet treats that will inevitably be shared with anyone in the vicinity.
*These systems are originally described in this way by bell hooks in her books Ain't I a Woman?, Feminism is for Everybody, and The Will to Change.

Gender Affirming Letters with Eve
-
If you are looking for a letter for gender-affirming hormone treatment (GAHT), please know that most physicians listed on Charlotte Trans Health do not require a letter.
-
If you are looking for a letter for top surgery, please know that a few physicians in Charlotte also use the Informed Consent Model, but most insurance companies require a letter.
-
If you are selecting a physician for gender-affirming surgery (GS) or GAHT who requires a letter, please note that Eve will need to see you a maximum of two times for the letter and is usually able to get everything accomplished in one session.
-
Letter session fees can be paid using insurance or out-of-pocket, and sliding scale options are available.
-
If you have already received another letter for GS/GAHT, please either send it to Eve prior or bring it to the session if possible.
-
Eve is happy to update/edit the letter within a 6-month time frame without a second visit.
-
If you need updates/edits after 6 months, Eve will need to meet for a brief follow-up to discuss any updates she may need to document in the letter.
-
If this works for you, please schedule here.
-
If not, feel free to schedule with Dr. Jocie Sweeney, Tatim Lace, LCSW, or see Charlotte Trans Health for additional referral options.
